Earthquakes can lead to severe disasters and secondary hazards such as fires and toxic gas leaks. These
events underscore the urgent need for localized, affordable early-warning systems, particularly in schools,
public buildings and rural communities. We developed MySEISMO, a cost-effective environmental hazard
detection system utilizing Microbit microcontrollers and sensors including vibrations, flame and gas sensors
to prompt immediate evacuations. Additionally, sensor data is transmitted to a monitoring platform via IoT
technology, enabling real-time analysis, remote supervision and early disaster preparedness.
