YIN1012: WHERE IS MY WATER? PRESSURE IN A FLUID

NORSHAIMAH BINTI MOHD SANI SMK DATUK PANGLIMA ABDULLAH

This project investigates pressure in liquids and its application in apartment water supply systems. The study focuses on how the height of a water tank affects the pressure of water flowing through pipes. The concept is based on the formula P = hρg, where pressure increases with height. A model of an apartment water system was used to observe how water flows from a storage tank to different levels. The results show that water pressure is higher at lower levels because the height of water above them is greater. Pipe size also influences the efficiency of water flow, where larger pipes reduce resistance and allow smoother delivery. The position of the tank plays an important role in ensuring sufficient pressure without using excessive energy. From this project, it can be concluded that liquid pressure depends on height and is important in designing efficient water supply systems. Understanding this concept helps improve water distribution in apartments and ensures a consistent water supply.
