KUNYIT WATCH is a natural sensor innovation using cellulose paper impregnated with turmeric extract (curcumin) to detect water pollution and hazardous additives. The sensor changes color according to the type of pollutant: permanent yellow for clean or acidic water, reddish brown for alkaline water, dark orange for heavy metals, and white/faded for bleach or organic chemicals. With a fast response time (1–5 minutes), low cost, and ease of use, this method is suitable for initial screening in schools, homes, small laboratories, and communities. The test shows a clear color change in 1–3 minutes, demonstrating high sensitivity to heavy metals, bleach, synthetic dyes, and hazardous additives. This innovation has the potential to replace expensive traditional detection methods and provide a technology that is safe, environmentally friendly, and easily accessible to the public.
