Cooking during outdoor activities can be a hassle, especially for campers who struggle with scattered tools, contamination risks, and a lack of portable, compact kitchen solutions. Common issues include high costs from multiple kitchen items, disorganized tools, misplaced utensils, and equipment that lacks outdoor durability. To better understand these challenges, we conducted a 3-day observation at Maragang Hill Camping Site, focusing on student campers aged 17 to 18. The main aim was to identify specific problems they encountered while preparing meals, particularly those related to the use of cutting boards and cutlery. Additionally, interviews were conducted with three outdoor enthusiasts, with each session lasting 15 to 30 minutes. These interviews aimed to gain a clearer understanding of the common challenges they encounter during outdoor cooking. We began the development process using Shapr3D to visualize the product’s shape, colour, and materials. Due to budget constraints, we created the initial prototype using recycled materials such as boxes, cardboard, and paper. The process took approximately two weeks. With ErgoBoard, we aim to solve the common challenges faced by outdoor enthusiasts and make outdoor cooking more efficient and enjoyable.
