Researchers analysed the nutrients, phytochemicals, and antinutrients in Citrus maxima (pomelo) juice and rind extract. Fresh fruits were cleaned, the rind removed, and the pulp blended to obtain juice, while the rind was extracted with ethanol. Results showed the rind extract contained much higher crude fibre, fat, ash, carbohydrates, alkaloids, phenolics, and flavonoids than the juice. It’s good for growing teeth, improving skin health and supporting heart health by lowering cholesterol.
