According to statistics released by the Ministry of Health, a total of 195 measles cases were recorded nationwide starting in 2020, with the highest figure of 32,620 cases in 2023. This indicates an increase of 891.8%. In line with this, several students have shown signs of redness on their hands and feet. Furthermore, the school suspects that these are early signs of measles. In this matter, the school, with a sense of responsibility, wants to find a solution to this problem through innovative and creative thinking. Accordingly, we are planning and implementing a project called 'Neem Soap'. In this project, the school has established an innovation team consisting of 3 students and 1 teacher.

The main objective of producing the Neem Soap Innovation Project is to prevent the problem of measles among students using environmentally friendly materials. It also aims to foster a spirit of environmental sustainability and good values among students, such as cooperation, responsibility, and tolerance, in creating a clean and cheerful school environment.

The rationale for selecting this project is to prevent the problem of measles among students due to a lack of awareness in preventing the disease. This project is also seen as a very suitable undertaking. This is because it does not disturb the ecosystem around the school and helps the ecosystem around the school to thrive. Future generations should have knowledge about the importance of the ecosystem and how to use it to prevent measles without harming it. Although this project requires the purchase of some items, most of the materials used are inexpensive, such as neem leaves, lavender oil, molds, and aloe vera. We have decided to use lavender oil and turmeric. Turmeric is known to contain anti-aging, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. The yellow color found in turmeric acts as a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, as well as an antiseptic.

Overall, the Neem Soap project is a source of great pride for us because it successfully produced something that can be modified, upgraded, and has commercial and user-friendly value. In addition, this innovation project is a project that does not use high costs, the project materials are easily available, it is easy to produce, and it does not have an impact on the environment.
