Food waste such as food that has been served but not eaten, spoiled food or chicken bones are considered inedible. Rather than throwing the food away, it's better to use it for good. As for example, these food waste gives nutrient for plant to grow healthier. Therefore, we tried to create biodegradable seedlings pot out of food waste to reduce food disposal and to ensure a better environment. This biodegradable seedling pot was made by putting the food waste into the air fryer at the temperature of 160 OC for 40 minutes until it becomes dry and crispy. Then, we crushed the food waste using a blender or stone mortar to simplify the process. Once it is completely crushed, we mixed it with pure neem oil. Afterwards, the crushed food will then be mixed with a mixture of tapioca flour and 10 spoons of hot water that was stirred until it had become sticky. Finally, we shaped it into a pot using a mould to dry for 24 hours under direct sunlight. The biodegradable seedlings pot have advantages beyond being able to break down fast. Moreover, it is 100% biodegradable and provide nutrients for your plants to grow as it breaks down in the soil. This will take three to six months to fully breaks down, far quicker than traditional plastic that can take hundreds years. Thus, this will help save mother Earth and have highly potential to promote healthy root growth for plants. In the future we want biodegradable seedlings pot to replace poly bag in agriculture to avoid plastic pollution and plant more trees to reduce carbon dioxide and ensure better environment by providing more oxygen for human.
