This project presents the design and development of an innovative planthouse inspired by the adaptive features of the Stenocara beetle. Utilizing biomimicry, the structure integrates a water collection system modeled after the beetle’s ability to harvest moisture from the air, enabling the planthouse to self-sustain even in arid environments. In addition to water harvesting, the planthouse features an integrated composting system that decomposes food waste and dead plant material to produce natural fertilizer. This closed-loop ecosystem reduces external resource dependency, promotes sustainable agriculture, and offers a model for future resilient farming structures. By combining nature-inspired water collection with self-sufficient nutrient production, this project aims to advance environmentally friendly and autonomous plant cultivation systems.
