PRO115: BASIC MANDARIN 3 : AN EASY MODULE LEARNING MANDARIN LANGUAGE

The use of the Mandarin language has been growing rapidly in recent years, reflecting China's rapid economic growth. As a result, many universities in Malaysia are embracing possibilities by offering Mandarin language courses to help students improve their skills. A textbook is one of the primary resources and materials that help educators and learners achieve teaching and learning outcomes in language teaching and learning. Even though numerous Mandarin language textbooks have been applied to assist learners studying Mandarin, there are still issues that teachers and learners encounter in carrying out the outcomes. Most textbooks only focus on China's people culture and overlook the learner's local culture, such as character names, localities, settings, and culture-specific rituals or festivities. This issue can lead to a problem for learners mastering the language well. Due to this, there is a profound need for assistance with an idea to design and develop a localization teaching material called Basic Mandarin 3. Basic Mandarin 3 is a textbook purposely focused on the learners learning level 3 at Kulliyyah of Languages and Management (KLM) with 5 Main Chapters including the exercises. The textbook adheres to the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Chinese Language Education Standard. The textbook is objectively designed for students to gain an understanding of cultural competence to be proficient in Mandarin. This textbook has significantly aided students in studying the Mandarin language. It is hoped that this localization textbook will be worth overcoming the problem and help students to gain a better understanding of learning the Mandarin language.
