The Enthalpy Made Easy (EME) project is an innovative response to the inaccuracy of result in finding out the energy value of food and enthalpy of combustion. The inaccuracy of experiment is due to three factors: a) heat loss to the surrounding, b) random error occur when taking the temperature reading on thermometer, c) reading on the thermometer becomes blur due to the water vapour formed. Designed for high school, matriculation and Form 6 students, the project aims to improve the accuracy of experiment on finding out the energy value of food and enthalpy of combustion in a chemical reaction, thus enhancing students’ interest on conducting experiment. The Enthalpy Made Easy (EME) project is an apparatus consisting of 3three parts, which are the lower part, the middle part and the upper part. The three parts can be detached from one another. The lower part is a container used to support the set-up and is the source of fire. Lighter can be inserted to ignite the fuel. The middle part consists of a hole that allows the flow of oxygen gas. The upper part consists of two layers: the inner copper layer will conduct the heat from the fire to itself thoroughly whereas the outer borosilicate glass layer is an insulation layer that prevent the loss of heat. It also consists of digital temperature sensor that shows accurate temperature changes. Observations from a matriculation college test run showcase positive impacts on accuracy of result findings. Surveys among teachers and students yield a remarkable mean rating, affirming the project's effectiveness. The wow factors of Enthalpy Made Easy (EME) project lies in its hands-on, age-appropriate design, and exhilarating learning experience. Beyond its educational prowess, the project demonstrates commercial potential through its adaptability and ease of integration into diverse lesson plans. In summary, Enthalpy Made Easy (EME) project emerges as a effective tool for conducting experiment and enhance the education quality.
