ST1175: CYCLIC

NASHA NUR EHSABELLA BINTI SHAMSUDDIN KOLEJ MATRIKULASI LABUAN

The food and beverage industry is constantly evolving to improve efficiency and service quality (Chinnaraj, 2023). One common challenge faced by cafés and restaurants is the manual stirring of beverages, which often results in inconsistent taste, longer preparation time, and increased labor demands (Demong et al., 2016). The introduction of The Cyclic, an automatic stirring water jar, offers a practical solution by ensuring uniform mixing, reducing staff workload, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction (Hameed, 2020). To identify the problem, a combination of brainstorming sessions, observations, and WH-questions were used to gather insights from staff and customers. A two-hour observation was conducted at the cafeteria in College Matriculation Labuan, alongside interviews on 12 January 2025 with Mrs Normah binti Muhammed Yassin, a 55-year-old cafeteria staff member; Miss Norlina Binti Ben, a 25-year-old staff member; and Miss Alya Maisarah Binti Bakari, a 20-year-old student. The prototype of The Cyclic was created using Shapr3D, with the design process taking 1 week. While it is ideal for hot and cold beverages requiring regular mixing, it is not suitable for high-viscosity or carbonated liquids (Alawami et al., 2025). As a team, we hope that The Cyclic will inspire progress and redefine excellence within the food and beverage industry, setting a new standard for operational efficiency and consistency, while driving innovation to enhance customer satisfaction and improve workflows across industries worldwide.
