Waste management remains a challenge in school environments due to high plastic waste generation and limited student awareness. This study presents EcoBin, an interactive waste bin system designed as both an educational tool and a functional waste disposal device to enhance environmental awareness through user interaction. The system automatically detects user presence and opens the lid to facilitate proper waste disposal behavior. Functional testing shows that EcoBin operates effectively and increases user engagement in waste management practices. This innovation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
