MUHAMAD IRFAN ADZRI BIN ZAMZAMI KOLEJ VOKASIONAL SUNGAI BULOH
The EduPark project was developed to address parking management issues at the new building area of Kolej Vokasional Sungai Buloh (KVSB) housing the Information Technology, Accounting, and Industrial Machining Technology programs. The main problems identified include traffic congestion due to uncontrolled student vehicle entry, misuse of lecturer parking areas, and security issues caused by the absence of an effective monitoring system. This project aims to develop a parking management system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that automatically controls vehicle access, specifically for lecturers and staff only. The project objectives include designing and writing the system code, developing the EduPark system, and testing the effectiveness of the RFID system in resolving parking issues. The development methodology utilized the Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model involving six main phases: requirement analysis, system design, programming, testing, implementation, and maintenance. The main system components consist of ESP32, RFID RC522 module, servo motor, 16x2 LCD Display, and LED indicator, integrated through C/C++ programming in Arduino IDE. Survey findings from 10 lecturers showed a very high level of acceptance toward this system with a mean value of 5.0. A total of 80% of respondents reported problems with unauthorized vehicles using lecturer parking spaces, while 100% of respondents agreed that the RFID system can enhance security and access control. Testing results proved that the EduPark system functions effectively in authenticating users, controlling automatic barriers, and recording entry-exit data systematically. This project successfully achieved all established objectives and has the potential to serve as a reference model for other educational institutions facing similar parking management problems.
