This project focuses on developing a biodegradable dish soap using Citrus sinensis (orange) peels as a natural cleaning ingredient. Orange peels contain d-limonene, a compound with strong degreasing and antimicrobial properties. The study aims to reduce chemical use in dishwashing liquids while promoting the reuse of fruit waste. The methodology involves extracting active compounds from the peels, formulating the dish soap, and testing its cleaning effectiveness compared to commercial products. Results show that orange-based dish soap can clean grease effectively while being safer and more environmentally friendly. This project highlights the potential of natural waste materials in producing sustainable household products.
