JI637: PRODUCTION OF SOAP BY UTILIZING USED COOKING OIL

SASVENA A/P GUNASILAN SJK T RAWANG

This project shows how we can make soap in an eco-friendly way by recycling used cooking oil and adding chamomile for its skin benefits. Used cooking oil is often thrown away and can harm the environment, especially by clogging drains and polluting water. Instead of wasting it, we reused the oil to make handmade soap through a process called saponification. We added chamomile, a natural plant known for helping with skin problems, to make the soap gentler and more soothing. The finished soap was tested for safety, lather, and cleaning ability. Our results showed that we can turn waste oil into useful, good-quality soap that is safe to use. This project teaches us how recycling and using natural ingredients can help protect the environment while making something useful.
