Qistina Erisya Binti Mohd Khaizan Kolej PERMATA@Pintar Negara, UKM

This study investigates the potential of Adenanthera pavonina seeds in skincare by extracting bioactive compounds, formulating them into a lotion, and testing for safety and effectiveness. Seeds were washed, dried, powdered, and extracted with ethanol. The resulting 2.89% yield was incorporated into a lotion tested for pH, moisture, stability, and skin irritation. Results showed a pH of 7, 40.56% moisture, no irritation, and good stability. The beige, woody-scented lotion meets natural skincare standards. This eco-friendly, locally sourced product offers a sustainable option for Malaysia’s cosmetic market while promoting cultural heritage and contributing to dermatological research and global awareness.
