In Malaysia, approximately 70,686 tons of eggshell waste are generated annually, primarily from the poultry and food industries. To tackle this environmental challenge, we developed the CalciGlow Bio-Mineral Face Mask, an eco-friendly and biodegradable skincare product that repurposes eggshell powder and its inner membrane. This initiative not only helps reduce environmental pollution but also promotes sustainable waste management by converting organic waste into valuable natural skincare solutions.

The project also explores opportunities for commercial production and entry into the natural skincare market. Additionally, it aligns with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).

The initiative aims to empower the community, reduce household and industrial waste, promote skin health, and educate the public about the benefits of natural, environmentally friendly ingredients. The eggshells and membranes are cleaned, dried, and ground into powders, then mixed with aloe vera gel, rose water, glycerin, and optionally niacinamide to create a nourishing serum.

User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting improvements in skin texture, hydration, and overall appearance, along with appreciation for its gentle formula and eco-conscious approach. . The eco-friendly concept has also resonated with consumers, who value its contribution to sustainable skincare and waste reduction.
