ABSTRACT The construction of this Domestic Smart Socket is produced in the form of a prototype that can fully function according to the objectives of the project aimed at helping users in solving the problem of electricity wastage and providing security to users. Domestic Smart Sockets are built using a methodological approach according to the Hannafin & Peck Model. The project produced uses a special circuit produced by Arduino Uno to control the current flowing to the Domestic Smart Socket. Any electrical equipment used will get its power source from the Domestic Smart Socket where the electrical current is controlled automatically as well as manually. The Domestic Smart Socket is equipped with a timer button that has been programmed using the C language and has an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB). The effectiveness of using Domestic Smart Sockets has been tested on 40 students of Asrama Perkaya Marang, Marang Terengganu. The data obtained from the research instruments were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The findings of the study found that 32 respondents (80%) were not satisfied with the existing electrical sockets. It was also identified that 80% of the respondents agreed that this Domestic Smart Socket can help combat electricity waste problems.
