JI1027: WATER FILTER

YOKESH A/L JAYAVARMA SEKOLAH JENIS KEBANGSAAN (TAMIL) RAWANG

The water filter project focuses on creating a simple, cost-effective method to purify dirty or contaminated water using easily available materials. The main goal is to remove impurities such as dirt, sand, and harmful microorganisms to make the water clean and safe for use. In this project, layers of materials like gravel, sand, activated charcoal, and cotton are arranged in a plastic bottle or container. Each layer plays a role in trapping different kinds of impurities: Gravel removes large particles. Sand filters smaller dirt and sediments. Charcoal absorbs chemicals and bad odors. Cotton or cloth acts as a final filter for fine particles. The filtered water collected at the bottom is clearer and safer than the unfiltered sample. This project demonstrates basic principles of filtration, environmental science, and health awareness. It also highlights the importance of clean water and how science can be used to solve real-world problems.
