Mastery of basic arithmetic operations within 100 is a crucial foundation in primary mathematics. However, many young learners struggle to grasp abstract number concepts, particularly in addition, subtraction, and combined operations. Effective and engaging teaching tools are needed to bridge the gap between concrete understanding and abstract thinking in early numeracy. Observations in the classroom revealed that a significant number of Year 1 to Year 3 pupils had difficulty performing basic addition and subtraction within 100 using traditional methods. Many pupils lacked number sense, struggled with regrouping, and could not visualize numerical relationships, leading to disengagement and poor achievement in Mathematics. The Multihundred Blocks Kit is a modular, digital application and hands-on learning tool consisting of a 10×10 grid (hundred chart) with color-coded numbered blocks. Pupils use these components to physically manipulate numbers for addition, subtraction, and combined operations. The approach follows the principle of “Touch, Arrange, Count,” helping pupils visualize grouping in tens, identify number patterns, and perform mental calculations with increased confidence. The kit is designed for flexibility and can be used individually, in pairs, or in group activities during lessons. The kit fosters active learning, caters to multiple learning styles, and aligns with 21st Century Learning (PAK21) strategies. Teachers reported ease of use, better classroom engagement, and more meaningful conceptual learning. The kit is particularly beneficial for remedial pupils and those who benefit from tactile and visual aids. The Multihundred Blocks Kit is an impactful innovation that enhances mathematics instruction through a concrete, fun, and learner-centered approach. It bridges the gap between concrete and abstract learning, promotes numeracy mastery within 100, and supports inclusive education. This innovation holds strong potential for wider application in schools to strengthen foundational mathematical skills.
