AHMAD AFANDI BIN YUSRI UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA

In the digital era, education in Malaysia is transforming with technology becoming a core component of teaching and learning. The Malaysian Ministry of Education's Digital Education Policy (2023) aims to produce digitally fluent and competitive generations. A major challenge in teaching Malay language, especially figurative compound nouns, is its perceived difficulty and dullness. To improve teaching quality and tackle negative perceptions, innovative teaching aids are essential. These aids, aligned with digital education initiatives, should be engaging and foster 21st-century skills. The study proposes developing a digital game-based teaching kit with augmented reality games incorporating local wisdom and 21st-century skills to make teaching figurative compound nouns more practical and interesting named Kit Kia ArPoly. This approach seeks to integrate culture into learning, strengthening national identity while providing an interactive learning platform.
