JI672: Kad Kat Mana Tu Versi 2.1

Anis Hadirah Binti Sulaiman Sekolah Kebangsaan Abdullah

“Kat Mana Tu Version 2.1” is an innovative, non-digital teaching aid designed to improve the understanding of coordinate concepts among primary school students, especially those in Year 4. This card-based tool offers a hands-on, visual approach to learning Mathematics by enabling students to identify and plot coordinates using structured physical cards. Many students struggle to understand coordinates when taught only through abstract diagrams or textbook methods. “Kat Mana Tu?” bridges this gap by transforming abstract concepts into concrete, interactive learning experiences. Through manipulation of cards representing grid positions, students engage actively with the content, which enhances comprehension and long-term retention. A classroom study involving 26 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Abdullah showed a significant increase in mastery, from 65% in the pre-test to 92% in the post-test, after using this tool. The product has also seen small-scale sales to teachers and parents, indicating early commercial interest.  Collaboration with the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka played a key role in enhancing the product’s quality. Advisory input and technical expertise from the faculty contributed to improvements in the product’s design, production of supporting materials such as presentation videos, and initial efforts toward commercialization. The innovation’s simplicity, affordability, and compatibility with the national curriculum make it highly applicable in diverse learning environments, particularly in schools with limited access to digital resources. “Kat Mana Tu?” is a practical, scalable, and impactful educational innovation that offers a creative solution to a common learning difficulty in Mathematics, with strong potential for national adoption and further development.
