This project focuses on the design of a Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) system equipped with a DC optimizer for a residential house in Taman Universiti, Johor. The system was carefully sized using real household electricity consumption data, actual rooftop layout, and local meteorological conditions. A DC optimizer was integrated into the system to reduce mismatch losses and enhance energy output, especially under partial shading. The entire system was modeled and analyzed using MATLAB. Simulation results show that the inclusion of the DC optimizer significantly improves system performance and energy efficiency, making it highly suitable for residential applications in Malaysia's tropical climate.
