The purpose of this study is about recycling discarded waste cooking oil into fragrant candles. Discarded oil of in the sewer system can clog pipes and drainages thus causing increase in repairing cost. Waste cooking oil also causes contamination of surface and ground water.  Oil forms an impermeable layer on the water surface which prevents oxygen flow to flora and fauna beneath water. Furthermore, oil waste contamination affects aquatic animals by posing impact on food chain, breeding and reproduction. Waste oil poured on ground can also seep through the soil and contaminate natural source of water. Waste oil contamination also makes water unfit for agriculture and disrupt the operation of water treatment plants. To avoid these effects, waste oil can be recycled into candles. Making candles from used oil is an energy efficient way to recycle without the use of dangerous chemicals. Candles from discarded oil reduces the quantity of waste cooking oil and offers recycling done at home. Serapoh Rekindle are created by substituting paraffin wax with stearic acid as paraffin wax are unfriendly to environments. Serapoh Rekindle also avoids vegetable- based wax disrupts food chain and promotes further exploitation of nature. In conclusion, Serapoh Rekindle is a potential environment friendly candle and it is the most ecological way of recycling waste cooking oil which causes major threat to environment.
