The conventional media practitioners have used misleading, sensational, and misinterpreted headlines, which could lead to vaccine misinformation. Therefore, engagement with media experts is needed to help create awareness how important appropriate vaccine reporting is. With the aim of assisting media practitioners in making proper choices in addressing vaccination issues, our research developed a standard “Vaccine Reporting Guideline: Governing the Media Conduct”. This guideline is unique as it presents a contextual and evidence-based content that is mostly relevant in Malaysia. The guideline is under the review of the ministry of health. Once endorsed, it will be shared with the media practitioners to guide them in vaccine reporting. Using this guideline, the media credibility in Malaysia could be maintained while ensuring a standardized vaccine communication as endorsed by the Malaysian Health Ministry.
