Abstract
Marian Herbal Soap is an innovative eco-friendly soap developed using natural and recycled plant-based ingredients such as kaduk leaves, coffee peels, sacha inchi leaves, and temu kunyit (Curcuma zanthorrhiza). This project was created to promote natural skincare, reduce organic waste, and encourage sustainable product development using environmentally friendly materials. Each ingredient provides unique benefits: kaduk leaves contain antioxidant and antibacterial properties, coffee peels act as natural exfoliants, sacha inchi leaves provide omega-3 fatty acids that help moisturize and nourish the skin, and temu kunyit contributes anti-inflammatory and skin-brightening properties. The combination of these natural ingredients produces a sustainable herbal soap that is safe for skin and environmentally friendly.
This innovation aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting the use of natural, chemical-free skincare products that are safer for human health. Additionally, the project supports SDG 4: Quality Education by involving students in the process of researching, producing, packaging, and marketing the herbal soap. Through this hands-on learning experience, students gain knowledge in science, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and environmental awareness, preparing them to become responsible and innovative individuals who contribute to global sustainability efforts.
