Smart Bin Bot is an innovative AI-powered recycling system developed to address the growing issue of improper waste management and to promote sustainable practices, particularly within school environments. Despite increasing awareness of environmental issues, many individuals still fail to separate waste correctly due to lack of knowledge, motivation, and convenience. Smart Bin Bot aims to overcome these challenges by integrating advanced technologies with an engaging and user-friendly system that encourages responsible waste disposal habits.

 

The system operates by requiring users to scan a personal QR code before disposing of their waste. This feature enables the tracking of individual recycling activities, allowing users to accumulate points as a reward for correct disposal. Once the QR code is scanned, an integrated camera captures the image of the waste item. Using image recognition technology, the system identifies the type of material, such as plastic, paper, or metal. Based on this detection, the Smart Bin Bot automatically opens the correct compartment, ensuring accurate waste segregation. If the item is identified incorrectly or does not match the category, the system can alert the user, further enhancing awareness and learning.
