Many existing applications focus mainly on producing final answers, which limits students’ conceptual understanding and ability to explain reasoning. To address this issue, MathNarrator was developed as an intelligent AI-based application that provides clear, step-by-step narrated explanations supported by visual diagrams and graphs. The main objective of MathNarrator is to help students understand not only how to solve mathematical problems, but also why each step is taken, thereby strengthening conceptual understanding and learning confidence. The application integrates artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and symbolic mathematics to analyse user input, identify variables, construct equations, and generate structured explanations that adapt to the learner’s level. MathNarrator is designed to align with the Malaysian education syllabus, including SPM, Matrikulasi, STPM, and university-level courses, ensuring relevance to classroom learning and examination requirements, while dual-language support in English and Bahasa Melayu enhances accessibility. The novelty of MathNarrator lies in its combination of narrated reasoning with automatically generated visual representations, an approach that distinguishes it from conventional mathematics applications that provide fixed solutions without explanation. The innovation is highly applicable in schools, universities, tuition centres, and independent learning environments.
