The Smart Remote is a compact and versatile control device designed to simplify modern home automation by integrating multiple communication technologies, including infrared (IR), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, into a single unified system. The primary objective of this project is to eliminate the inconvenience of using multiple remote controls for different appliances while providing a user-friendly and efficient universal controller that can manage both traditional and smart devices. The development process began with a detailed analysis of common household appliances and their control requirements. Based on this analysis, suitable hardware components were selected, including a microcontroller, communication modules, and power management systems. The hardware was then designed and assembled into a compact prototype. On the software side, the microcontroller was programmed to support multi-protocol communication, allowing seamless switching between IR, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi depending on the target appliance. User control was implemented through a simple and intuitive interface, enabling easy operation without technical expertise. Extensive testing was conducted to evaluate the responsiveness, reliability, and compatibility of the Smart Remote with various appliances such as televisions, air conditioners, lighting systems, and smart plugs. The results demonstrated stable performance, fast response times, and consistent control across different communication protocols. The system successfully managed multiple devices without signal interference or noticeable delays. Overall, the Smart Remote offers an effective, cost-efficient, and easy-to-use solution for home automation. It significantly improves user convenience, reduces device clutter, and enhances control efficiency. The project also shows strong potential for future enhancement, including mobile application integration, voice control, and expanded compatibility with emerging smart-home ecosystems.
