AquaTemp SCIPP

This project presents an innovative air cooling system created using recycled plastic bottles to provide an affordable and eco-friendly cooling solution. The problem identified is the increasing heat in daily environments and the limited access to effective cooling systems, especially in areas where air conditioners are expensive, consume high electricity, and are not environmentally sustainable. Conventional cooling devices are often costly and inaccessible for many users, particularly students and low-income communities.

To address this issue, a simple yet effective air cooler was designed using used plastic bottles arranged to enhance airflow and reduce surrounding air temperature. The design works by compressing and directing air through the bottle openings, creating a cooling effect without the need for high energy consumption. This solution is low-cost, easy to assemble, and utilizes recyclable materials, making it both practical and sustainable.

The impacts of this innovation include improved thermal comfort, reduced electricity usage, and promotion of environmental awareness through recycling. It also encourages creativity and problem-solving skills among students. From a commercialization perspective, this product has strong potential due to its affordability, ease of production, and wide applicability. It can be marketed as a DIY cooling kit or pre-assembled product for households, schools, and rural communities, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional cooling systems.
