Industry 4.0 demands engineering graduates with strong practical automation skills beyond theoretical knowledge. To address this need, the Teaching and Learning Aid (TLA) was developed by integrating Factory I/O simulation, PLC programming using STEP7, and HMI design via SKTOOLS. This study aims to enhance students’ understanding, engagement, and hands-on competence in industrial automation. The TLA was implemented among Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automation) students, supported by a structured manual and survey-based evaluation. Findings show improved student motivation, engagement, and proficiency in PLC, HMI, and system integration. The integration of simulation and real hardware effectively bridges theory and industrial practice.
