LIYNNETTE A/P JEIPRAKASAM SMK ST. BERNADETTE’S CONVENT
This project investigates the development of EcoPaint, an environmentally friendly paint formulated using natural pigments derived from plant-based substances such as turmeric, spinach, beetroot, and charcoal. The study examines pigment extraction methods, color stability, adhesion, and safety compared to conventional synthetic paints. Results indicate that EcoPaint provides satisfactory coverage with reduced toxicity and minimal environmental impact. By replacing harmful chemicals with biodegradable materials, this innovation supports sustainable practices in art and construction. The project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
