ABSTRACT

Title: G.O.E Fertilizer

The G.O.E Fertilizer (Garlic, Onion, and Eggshell Fertilizer) is an eco-friendly innovation designed to promote sustainable agriculture through the use of natural household ingredients. This project aims to reduce chemical fertilizer dependency and manage kitchen waste effectively by transforming it into a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer.

To prepare the fertilizer, garlic cloves, onion bulbs, and eggshells are washed, dried, and ground together into a fine mixture. The blended paste is then diluted with water and left to ferment for a few days before application to the soil or plant roots. This simple process makes it affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly.

Each ingredient contributes unique benefits: garlic acts as a natural pesticide and antifungal agent that repels harmful insects; onion enriches the soil with sulfur compounds that enhance plant immunity and growth; and eggshells supply calcium carbonate, which strengthens plant cell walls and promotes root development.

Through classroom experiments, G.O.E Fertilizer demonstrated improvements in plant height, leaf colour, and overall vitality compared to chemical fertilizers. It also nurtures environmental awareness among students and promotes sustainable waste management practices.

This innovation supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 15: Life on Land), highlighting how everyday waste can be transformed into a powerful natural solution for a greener future.
