The Guardian Angel System is an innovative smart vehicle safety solution designed to address the critical issue of children being left in hot vehicles due to Forgotten Baby Syndrome. Despite increasing awareness, such incidents continue to result in heatstroke and preventable deaths, highlighting the need for a more reliable and real-time monitoring system.
This project integrates the micro:bit, HUSKYLENS 2 AI Vision Sensor, and ESP8266 to create a multi-layer intelligent detection system. The HuskyLens 2 utilizes artificial intelligence to detect the presence of a child, while the micro:bit processes environmental data such as temperature. When a dangerous condition is detected, the ESP32 sends real-time alert messages to a Telegram group, ensuring that multiple caregivers are instantly notified regardless of their location.
Unlike conventional systems that rely on short-range Bluetooth or pressure sensors, this solution leverages IoT technology to provide long-distance communication, improved detection accuracy, and faster emergency response. The system is designed to be low-cost, scalable, and practical for real-world application.
This innovation supports Sustainable Development Goal 3 by reducing preventable child fatalities and promoting safer environments. By combining AI, sensor technology, and real-time communication, the Guardian Angel System offers a proactive and reliable approach to child safety in vehicles.
