This project presents SMARTBIN PRO, an AI-enhanced smart waste management system developed to improve cleanliness, efficiency, and sustainability in food service environments, specifically at Burger Cafe PSP, Politeknik Seberang Perai. The system integrates automated wet and dry waste segregation using sensor-based detection with real-time fill-level monitoring and intelligent alert notifications.

Unlike conventional smart bins, SMARTBIN PRO incorporates a Smart Communication Module, which delivers user-friendly messages and prompts to guide proper waste disposal behaviour. This integration bridges the gap between technology and human interaction, ensuring users not only use the system correctly but also develop awareness of sustainable practices.

A quantitative study was conducted through surveys involving café workers and customers to evaluate system effectiveness. The findings show improvements in cleanliness, reduced workload for workers, and higher user satisfaction. The system also enhances response time in waste management through real-time alerts.

This innovation aligns with SDG 3, SDG 11, SDG 12, and SDG 13, promoting health, sustainable communities, responsible consumption, and climate action. SMARTBIN PRO has strong potential for scalability in food premises, educational institutions, and public spaces, contributing towards smarter and more sustainable environments.
