RECHEM-X is an innovative system designed to address the environmental challenges associated with the improper disposal of used aviation hydraulic fluid. As hydraulic fluid is a hazardous chemical, its mismanagement can lead to significant environmental degradation and adverse impacts on human health. This study proposes a waste-to-energy (WtE) approach, in which collected used hydraulic fluid undergoes a series of pretreatment processes followed by a glycol concentration stage. The processed fluid is then introduced into a specialized boiler and turbine generator system to produce thermal and electrical energy. The generated energy is utilized to power hangar operations, while emissions are treated through an integrated filtration system prior to release. RECHEM-X supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 14 (Life Below Water) by minimizing toxic waste discharge and promoting resource recovery. This system demonstrates the potential of converting hazardous waste into a valuable energy source while mitigating environmental risks.
