Road safety is very important, especially in rural and poorly lit areas where visibility is low at night. Drivers often cannot see road markings clearly, which can lead to accidents. This problem becomes worse during rainy weather, when the road is darker and lines are harder to see. This project introduces an innovative solution using glow-in-the-dark road markings that absorb sunlight during the day and emit light at night without using electricity. These glowing lines help drivers clearly see the road direction, curves, and crossings even in dark and rainy conditions. The objective of this project is to improve road visibility, reduce accidents, and increase safety for all road users. A model was developed using photoluminescent materials applied to road markings to demonstrate how the system glows in low-light environments. The results show that the glowing markings are clearly visible in the dark and still noticeable during rainy conditions, helping drivers stay on the correct path and avoid danger. Based on our observation, the visibility of road markings improved significantly in low-light conditions compared to normal road lines. This project supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 13: Climate Action by improving safety and reducing energy use. In conclusion, this simple, low-cost, and eco-friendly innovation can greatly improve road safety, especially at night and during rain, making roads safer for everyone.
