The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into farming techniques automates and optimizes various farming tasks, transforming conventional agricultural processes. This article focuses on the use of IoT in farming, highlighting how it can enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency, while reducing labor costs and environmental impact. A smart farm system that employs advanced sensors and microcontrollers serves as an example of how this methodology is fundamentally utilized. This system incorporates highly accurate sensors for temperature in Celsius, soil moisture percentage, and light intensity. The onboard Wi-Fi is utilized by the system to transmit data to an internal server for storage. The preliminary trials of the smart farm system have yielded encouraging results in terms of optimizing yield and operational efficiency. Real-time monitoring of environmental data such as temperature, light intensity, and soil moisture has made it easier to intervene in a timely manner, leading to increased crop productivity and health. In addition, the incorporation of IoT technology has simplified data management procedures, enabling field sensors, the microcontroller, and the central server to communicate with each other without interruption. The system also allows users to access real-time farming data through desktop or mobile applications. Smart farming, which integrates sensor-based solutions and IoT technologies, is shaping the future of sustainable farming practices and emerging as a promising avenue to optimize agricultural operations.
