My project is called Moisture Sensor. It uses a micro:bit to check how wet or dry the soil is. I used two nails and two crocodile clips in the soil.
The nails help the micro:bit sense how wet the soil is by checking how easily electricity can pass through it. When the soil is wet, electricity can pass through more easily. When the soil is dry, it cannot pass well. The micro:bit uses this to know if the plant needs water.
I programmed the micro:bit to make an alarm sound when the soil is too dry. This reminds us to water the plant. When the soil has enough water, there is no alarm and the micro:bit shows a smiling face.
This project helps people take care of plants more easily. It is also fun because I used simple materials and coding to solve a real problem.
