Early detection of gas leakage is essential to prevent potential hazards and protect both lives and property. This project presents the development of a compact and affordable gas detector designed specifically for home use.
The proposed device is small and suitable for installation in household environments, particularly in kitchens where gas stoves and appliances are commonly used. Unlike many existing gas detection systems that are designed for commercial or industrial applications, most of which are large, expensive, and ceiling-mounted, this product focuses on practicality and accessibility for everyday households.
The gas detector utilizes an MQ-2 gas sensor, which is sensitive to gases such as propane and methane. When gas concentration exceeds a certain level, the system activates a buzzer to produce a loud alarm and turns on a visual indicator light to alert users immediately. The device operates using a 9V battery and includes an on/off switch for simple control. Its compact design allows easy installation without requiring specialized tools or technical expertise.
One of the main advantages of this system is its ability to detect even small gas leaks and provide early warnings. This enables users to take immediate action, such as switching off the gas supply or improving ventilation, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
