Digital Buddy is a localized, gamified mobile intervention designed to address the critical cyberbullying crisis in Malaysia, where students often suffer in silence due to a lack of actionable and confidential guidance. Developed by the Xplore Starz Team, the application replaces traditional, static resources with an interactive decision-tree system that provides immediate, step-by-step reporting protocols and direct integration with local help services like Talian Kasih 15999. By combining an Action Module for crisis management, an Education Module featuring motion-graphic empathy mini-games to visualize the emotional impact of online comments, and a Self-Care Module for immediate psychological support, the platform transforms confused victims into "confident upstanders." Pilot testing with 50 students demonstrated an 85% preference for this digital-native approach over traditional methods, highlighting its potential to scale. Through strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Education, this innovation seeks to deploy to 2,000 students across Negeri Sembilan, aiming to fundamentally shift Malaysia’s digital landscape from one of high bullying rates to one of proactive, student-led protection.
